We believe in the power of prayer because “if we ask anything according to [God’s] will, He hears us [and] we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14-15). All across our region, people are in desperate need of Almighty God! Our prayer team consists of highly committed prayer warriors who lift up our churches, our communities, our ministry partners, our nation, and our world. We pray for the lost to be saved, for the sick to be restored to health, and for the spiritual awakening of our region. We intercede on behalf of our dearly-loved pastors, ministry leaders, and the families that share these wonderful servants of God with our churches. We cast our cares upon the Lord (1 Peter 5:5), trusting Him to work out everything for our good (Romans 8:28) and His glory (Romans 11:36). The UOVBA prayer ministry exists because God has chosen to accomplish His will in answer to the prayers of
Christ’s people.

How does it work?
Just as the Father sent Jesus, so Jesus sends His people (John 20:21). Each week, our prayer team visits a specific UOVBA church for prayer and fellowship. That church provides our team with a list of specific requests that they will take to the Lord in prayer. It is not unusual for the team to engage in prayer walking, corporate prayer, and individual prayer during these gatherings. We hope that each church, each pastor, and each ministry leader in our association will be encouraged by this team who will faithfully pray and intercede for them. Our philosophy is simple: everyone should have someone praying for them!
